In the guidebook there was a highly recommended beach for body boarding, There was also some lava pools to the left. Because the trail is fairly steep and slippery it is considered to be a secret beach even by the locals (which by the way Allen is now a local himself:). To get to the trail you drive down this unmarked dirt road till you get to what looks some guys house. You park with all the other idiots and hike down the ridiculous trail. There are signs telling you, you will die if you go on the rocks.Well this beach is on our list of must sees so we went down the trail. Amazingly neither of us slipped and injured ourselves. When you finally get to the bottom it is just like the books described it. To the left are some pretty beautiful lava pools and to the right there is a pristine beach with very few people on it. Because of the seclusion Kauai police have had some issues with people using this as a nude beach which is prohibited by state law. Rhonda wondered the entire beach looking for any violators...Allen took a nap..... Anyways - big surf and fun to watch the waves and the view of the lighthouse.
