Local - In More Than One Way

Golf is so expensive here BUT what deal for locals.  This inspired Allen to get his Hawaiian Driver's License.  A little different over here than at home.... First thing is no picking up a drivers manual at the DMV to study for the test.  They actually charge you for the manual and you can't even get it at the DMV.  They sell them at Wal-Mart or the grocery stores.  They cost $5.20.  Crazy!   So we got Allen one and he sort of started studying... 

 
The condo's we are staying at were getting sprayed for bugs today and the weather looked like rain most of the day so we figured great time to head south and take care of a little business.  We needed to get the car insured and registered and get Allen some local ID.   Rhonda got to drive the whole day for the first time.  Allen was busy studying on the trip down.   Allen totally appreciated the ability to roll his passenger window up and down at ease, since the driver's side only works when it wants.

No line at the DMV, a quick 30 question test and $40.00 later Rhonda is dating a local boy.. Not that she wasn't dating a "loco" boy before....  Registration was only $5.00... best deal on the island and insurance was only $45 for two months.  The Beach Buggy continues to preform adequately.  Replaced a fuse and now both dome lights work. 
 
 
After the DMV we headed straight to 7-11 to get Rhonda her big gulp.  Since no place on the island carries Pepsis products.  As many of you know Rhonda gets her drink religiously daily and has been forced to drink from a can since we arrived.  Allen is missing his Black Rock and has been forced to drink from Mr. Coffee coffee maker.  But he seems to be handling it ok.  Rhonda has on the other hand has shown visible signs of missing her fountain refills.  While at 7-11 Rhonda finds out that Allen has never had a slurpee before (or at least that he remembers).  If this fact was known prior it may have been a deal killer for Rhonda.  She just couldn't believe that she was with someone so inexperienced.  Once we had overpaid for our drinks we were off to the Wailua Waterfalls.  Beautiful!
