Waimea Canyon
So we thought we'd try to see this canyon one more time. If you remember the first time we drove up to take a look it was all fogged in and we couldn't see a thing. This time we hit it just right and had some great views. It was beautiful!
Check out the difference in the pics we took the first time.
Below are some of our favorite pictures on the canyon.
Valentine's Day... AKA Love Day
Allen refers to Valentine's Day as Love Day.
While up at Waimea Canyon Allen stopped to rest on rock. He grabs Rhonda's hand and asked her to marry him. Rhonda thinking he is joking around laughs and asks are you kidding around? He pulls out a ring and says he is serious. She is in shock!
A little later Allen asks again with another ring. He said he had to have a back up in case Rhonda said no the first time.
Now Rhonda is thinking she should have played this one better and held out for more rings. Turned out that she didn't need to because Allen had planned ahead and Rhonda would have ran out of fingers anyways. Allen wanted her to have 14 rings on the 14th day of 2014. She received 13 and the 14th one will be picked out later together.
All kidding aside. It was the sweetest thing ever and Rhonda is a very lucky girl to have such a wonderful guy! Best Love Day ever!

He's Back and Stronger than Ever... Well for a Little Bit
Allen has been under the weather for most of a week. At least he planned it to go with the rainy weather we had. We would have been stuck inside anyways. The first day he was back with the living we had a couple of hours partial sun and took advantage of the Westin's lovely pool area.
The next day Allen was feeling up to actually having a day out. The weather was cooperating in the morning so we went to a beach up north from us. As you'll see in our photos Allen was ready to go. His energy level was still pretty low and frankly he was a lot spacier than normal. A lot. We headed back as it was raining again and stopped at a farmers market on our way. Looked around in the rain. Got a few things and stopped at the fish market for some fresh Ono for dinner. Allen had just enough energy left to grill it up with the fresh passion fruit from the farmers market. Yummy. Glad Allen's back with the living!

Some Random pics and more
On 1-30-14 we rode bikes to Regis - 2 miles down hill from home and unfortunately 2 miles of uphill on way home. Rhonda's idea to ride bikes for this trip, but on the way home Allen was blamed for us having to ride up the 2 mile hill. This was justified because it was Allen's idea to purchase the bikes in the first place. LOL. Locked bikes up and walked down 189 steps to the private Regis beach, Looks like nice place to snorkel. We will be back!
Then to Hanalei bay for swimming and nut retrieval. Serious accident near one lane bridge stranded us from going home. Tried going home but the only reason traffic was moving was due to the people getting tired of sitting in traffic and turning around. After 30 minutes we gave up and turned around. Went to Tahiti Nui for dinner - excellent. This was one of the five restaurant's we have identified we will give money to for dinner on our trip so perfect timing. So far this and CJ's in Princeville are the only dinner outings we have had. The Mediterranean by tunnels beach, the Prince Course Tavern and Kapaa Pasta are the other joints we plan to eat dinner. The accident occurred at 3:15 and the road did not open until 7:30. No fatalities thank God. Service was extremely slow because all of the waitresses could not get to work. Owners called all family to come and help. Our server was the payroll person and was 7 months pregnant. We just hung out and relaxed. Food was awesome.
On January 31st - to Kapaa to play some golf at the Wailua Municipal course $35 for 18 with a cart!!! Shot 89 and the hills wiped me out. Rhonda did some shopping - cant say what she bought cause she will likely bring some back as gifts,
February 1st - Anini beach day. Snorkeled and saw Turtles and a few fishy's. Grilled a fileted Tri Tip roast for super bowl Chili tomorrow. Rhonda made incredible Alfredo Italian Sausage with caramelized onion Rigatoni. A nice French wine rounded out the dinner nicely.
